Why we are visiting you
The Akwa Ibom State Government is updating the State Social Register so that support reaches the households that need it. We are confirming that your household is correctly recorded, updating details that have changed, and linking your household to one verified adult identity.
What we collect
Your household's location and composition, the names, ages and relationships of members, a contact phone number, and one identity credential (NIN or BVN) belonging to one adult member, together with a photograph of that adult taken during this visit.
Identity verification
The credential you provide is checked against the authority that issued it. We store only the last four digits, the result of the check and a reference number. The full number is never shown on screen again, printed, exported or sent by message.
This exercise is free
No officer may ask you for any payment. If anyone demands money, report it using the reference number given to you at the end of this visit.
Your rights
You may correct information that is wrong, challenge the outcome of this visit, or return later once you have obtained an identity credential. You will be given a reference number to use for any of these. Processing is carried out under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Retention and sharing
Your data is held by the State Social Register Custodian for as long as the register requires it, and is shared only with the bodies lawfully entitled to it. Photographs and identity data are encrypted and restricted to authorised staff.
